The Creative Business Collaboration Project involved researching the creative sector in Latin America to stimulate New Zealand creative businesses to forge new connections and develop partnerships in the region. The research was conducted by New Zealand company Courtenay Creative, led by Kirsty Grant.
Courtenay Creative researched Latin American gaming companies and worked with Associate Professor Leon Gurevitch (Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington School of Design Innovation) on a market-insights research report. This report examines how the creative economy in Latin America is changing, and how New Zealand can get involved with its creative industries in the future.
Working with Beyond – a virtual worlds game studio – Courtenay Creative produced a showreel featuring the work of eight Latin American game developers: Ace Team (Chile), Aquiris Game Studio (Brazil), Bromio (Mexico), Lienzo (Mexico), Mecha Studios (Mexico), Navegante (Mexico), Playmestudio (Chile) and Rogue Snail (Brazil). NZ Games Festival is promoting the results of the Creative Business Collaboration Project to New Zealand's gaming sector.
The Creative Business Collaboration Project was supported by the Latin America Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence.
